Tipp senden

If you have information that deserves wider attention, we want to hear from you. This page explains what makes a good tip, how to reach our newsroom, what to include, and what happens after you submit. We treat every submission seriously and work to verify facts thoroughly before publication.

What makes a good tip?

A good tip helps us uncover stories that matter to readers in Sweden and internationally. We look for developments in Swedish policy, legislation, or government decisions at both national and municipal levels — including Riksdagen debates, Regeringen proposals, and local council actions. Public-interest stories that expose waste, injustice, or systemic failures are always welcome, as are Wirtschaft news, economic trends, and cultural or societal shifts with clear Swedish relevance.

We also value tips that connect to broader European or global contexts, as long as the Swedish angle is strong. Original documents, internal memos, or firsthand observations often form the backbone of the most impactful stories. If you have evidence of wrongdoing, policy gaps, or overlooked community issues, we want to see it.

How do I reach the newsroom?

You can submit a tip securely to tips@weltmeldung.de. For general news enquiries or to suggest a story that is already in development, use newsdesk@weltmeldung.de. Press enquiries and media-related requests should go to press@weltmeldung.de. Our full contact details, including direct numbers and team email addresses, are on the Contact page.

If you are not sure which address to use, start with tips@weltmeldung.de. That mailbox is monitored by the editorial team and will be forwarded to the most relevant editor. For corrections or complaints, please see the dedicated channels described below.

What should I include in my tip?

Include as much concrete detail as possible: names, dates, locations, documents, and any supporting evidence you can share. If the information is sensitive, a brief summary of what you know and why it matters is enough to start the conversation. We encourage sources to provide contact details so we can follow up, but we understand that not everyone can do so.

Tell us what you believe the story is and why it is in the public interest. Explain any connections to Swedish politics, economy, or society that you see. Even a short email with a clear subject line — for example “Tip: Unreported budget cut in Stockholm schools” — helps us triage quickly.

How do we verify tips?

Every tip is reviewed by our editorial team. Our standards desk, led by Vanessa Peters (Ansvarig för faktagranskning), assesses each submission for credibility, sources, and potential risks. We follow the same fact‑checking procedures used for all editorial content, outlined in our Fact‑Checking Policy. Our Sources & Standards page explains how we handle anonymous documents, whistle‑blower testimony, and verification chains.

We do not publish any tip without human editorial approval. AI‑assisted tools may help with initial research or formatting, but never replace the judgement of an editor. Our AI & Automation Policy describes these safeguards in detail.

Is my submission confidential?

We take confidentiality seriously. You can submit a tip without giving your name, and we will not publish your identity without your explicit consent. If you choose to remain anonymous, we will still review your information and verify it through independent sources. We strongly encourage confidential sources to use encrypted email or secure messaging where possible, though we accept tips via standard email as well.

Our editorial team is bound by a strict code of conduct regarding source protection. We only share your details within the newsroom when necessary for verification. Any information that could identify you is stored securely and deleted once it is no longer needed. If you have legal or safety concerns, please mention them in your initial message so we can handle your case appropriately.

What happens after I submit?

Your tip enters our editorial workflow. You will receive an automated acknowledgement. Our newsroom team, led by Stefanie Otto (Redaktionschef), reviews it within a few business days. If we need more information, we will contact you using the details you provided. We aim to respond meaningfully to every tip, but we cannot guarantee a follow‑up if the submission lacks sufficient detail or falls outside our coverage remit.

If we decide to pursue the story, we will assign an editor or reporter — such as Felix Pohl (Politikredaktör) for political stories, Petra Schneider (Wirtschaftreporter) for economic tips, or Andreas Krüger (Kultur- och samhällsredaktör) for cultural and societal leads. The reporter will verify facts, interview relevant parties, and prepare the article for review. All published content is subject to our standard editorial process, as described in our Editorial Policy.

If you sent a correction or complaint, please direct that to corrections@weltmeldung.de instead. Our Corrections Policy explains how we handle errors and updates.

How this works in practice

Imagine you work for a Swedish municipality and discover that a proposed budget cut to after‑school programmes was not properly disclosed to the public. You email tips@weltmeldung.de with a short summary, a screenshot of the internal memo, and your contact details. The newsroom triages your tip, forwards it to Felix Pohl, who specialises in municipal politik. He contacts you for additional context, then cross‑references the memo with public records and interviews a council member. After fact‑checking by Vanessa Peters’ team, the article is drafted, edited, and published. Your identity is kept confidential throughout — and the story helps parents understand the real‑world impact of the decision.

Weltmeldung Media Ltd., the private company that owns and operates weltmeldung.de, is registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009) with a registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. Its commercial funding — from display advertising, affiliate links, partnerships, sponsored content, newsletters, and content licensing — is clearly separated from editorial decisions. For full ownership and financing details, see our Ownership & Funding page. If you have a complaint about our editorial conduct, please follow our Complaints Procedure.

In short

If you have a tip that fits our coverage — Swedish policy, politics, economy, culture, or society — send it to tips@weltmeldung.de with as much detail as you can. We will treat your submission confidentially, verify it through our rigorous process, and only publish after human editorial review. Every story we break starts with someone like you choosing to share what they know.
